While I am new to the organization I believe I could bring a unique perspective/background and contribute to growing the organization's reach and network. As a young professional, I currently work for an Independent petroleum wholesale marketer in Saskatoon, in the capacity of Operations Manager. Servicing a diverse customer base from residential to retail, to Saskatchewan's largest commercial consumers, my role primarily revolves around project development and customer relations. Prior to beginning this role earlier this year, I spent four years studying and working in Montreal. Here, I participated in a diversity of roles including; interning in a cognitive neuroscience lad, volunteering an international human rights NGO, organizing annual poppy campaigns, and representing global youth UN: ECOSOC. If elected my goal would be to drive membership growth through expanding marketing strategies and creating new event concepts.
As the Business Development Director at Ideas Inc, I have worked closely with emerging small businesses & entrepreneurs over the previous five years. My experience managing a business incubator has provided me with an abundance of insight into a variety of business industries & helped me craft a diverse set of business skills. Specifically, my previous participation on the Start Up Saskatoon board, my digital marketing certification & prior event planning experience will contribute well to the SYPE board committees. As a business professional born and raised in Saskatoon, I look forward to bringing fresh ideas to the table & making 2020 SYPE’s most kick ass year to date!
Chris Molenaar's story is an inspiration to those who know him well. Humble beginnings bring gratitude, poise, and patience your dealings with him. With your growing business or growing family, success isn't always a straight line. He keeps things calm but never quiet; settled but still exciting. Helping you stay well informed, well connected, and well-to-do!' Having me as a member of the sype board will help me bring more entrepreneurs to the organization, and grow the sype network in Saskatoon. With my sales, prospecting, and networking experience and my social media presence I feel confident in helping sype continue to grow and thrive in our community.

As part of SYPE's 20th Anniversary celebrations, we sought out some help from the community to rebrand.
Together with our Regina chapter, we put out a RFP for brand ideas, narrowed down proposals to three we thought best met the criteria, and chose one to flesh out and launch during the Silver Spades gala in June.
The winning brand proposal was created by Logan Seidlik, a freelance designer from Regina. The thought behind his idea is that young professionals and entrepreneurs make waves, navigate challenging terrain and communicate clearly. This really struck a chord with us and put forward a strong foundation to build our visual identity upon.
The resulting brand sets SYPE up for another 20 years! Check out our new logo and colours below:
We believe that change is good. With that in mind, we’ve decided to rebrand SYPE on a provincial level!
Our objective is for our brand to more clearly communicate what we’re about. Our goal is to create a logo and brand that young professionals and entrepreneurs are proud to affiliate with. We see this brand as being trendy (but classy), bold (but youthful) and fun (but professional).
Are you a designer, or do you know one? The winner of the challenge will receive $2,000 plus some other perks to create SYPE's new visual identity and brand guidelines.

Thank you everyone who has supported us. 2018 was a blast!
Most importantly, thank you to our SYPE members! You made this one of our best year’s to date! You supported 17 events this year, helped us to expand our board to fifteen people and gave away some well-deserved awards at our Silver Spades awards – congratulations again Tyler Willox (ISC, Regina) and Alisha Esmail (Road Coffee, Saskatoon)!
Next, we have some amazing sponsors to thank: Conexus, the Government of Saskatchewan, Information Services Corporation (ISC), Marsh and Nutrien. Thanks too, to our board for all of their work both in front of and behind the scenes, and to all of the amazing venues who housed SYPE events this year. Shout outs go to The Saskatoon Club, Cathedral Social Hall, Drift, Congress, The Hose & Hydrant and The Capitol.
We also partnered with two great Saskatoon businesses. Co Labs, SYPE Saskatoon and IEEE put on a young professional’s mixer in November which had a huge turnout and Westcap came out to talk about the Saskatchewan marketplace, venture capital and investment sectors.
2019 is SYPE Saskatoon's 20th anniversary! We are bursting at the seams with new ideas and can't wait to get started. The executive plans to have a strategy session in January to set the year’s agenda, and we’re always open to ideas and suggestions from you, our members!
Stay tuned for an exciting year full of even more engagement, connection and inspiration!

I am a Financial Advisor in downtown Saskatoon for the past 2.5 years since graduating from Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan. I pride myself on educating individuals, families and business owners in Saskatoon and the surrounding area on becoming financially intelligent. This has allowed me to meet many great people that have facilitated the growth in my business. In my spare time, I volunteer with the Holy Cross High School Senior Football Team as an assistant coach. Staying involved and giving back to the community has and always will be a passion of mine.
Spencer is a candidate for a 2 year term on the SYPE Saskatoon Board.
As the Professional Business Specialist for Conexus Credit Union, I support local businesses and business professionals with customized strategies to enhance their financial well-being. I am very passionate about networking, business development and am an advocate for continued personal development within myself and others. I was raised in a family business that dealt with intensive livestock supply to the international markets, which is where my engagement with professionals and entrepreneurs began. After leaving the farm to pursue my own career I furthered my business knowledge and personal development through private mentorship from successful local, regional, and international entrepreneurs and executives. Having honed my skills in sales, marketing, networking and events planning over the years through various roles and volunteer organizations, I am excited for the opportunity to represent Saskatchewan Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs in and around Saskatoon and Saskatchewan. I believe SYPE’s focus, and presence in our community is crucial and I would be honored to be part of the team that aids in its development and growth over the coming years.
Cody is a candidate for a 2 year term on the SYPE Saskatoon Board.
